2 Carrier Furnaces and 2 Air Conditioners were installed as part of new build in 2019. One Furnace heat exchanger cracked at 7 yrs. Come to find out no warranty was ever registered by Asbuilt or builder for any of this equipment after paying them almost $30k. We were never told to register it ourselves or provided any serial numbers for the units. All other HVAC companies we have dealt with do this for their clients. My husband was on site every other day during the build so all they had to do was provide us the info to register warranty or ask him his contact info and do it for us. Tech came last Friday took several hrs to figure out a serious defect in the Carrier furnace and red tagged it. We had no furnace heat on main floor and no word from Asbuilt til noon on Monday when husband kept calling trying to get help. Asbuilt said price to replace heat exchanger was going to be half the cost of new furnace. Went with a new furnace (not Carrier obviously) and new HVAC company (not Asbuilt obviously) costing us another $4800 . Extremely poor service would not recommend. Trying to register all the other equipment we have with Carrier for warranty now?
Ethan was at our house to check our failed furnace . we found him personable and very professionable. He only did what was necessary and offered good advice and suggestions. This young man is a definite asset to Asbuilt.
I had two air-conditioning systems put in five years ago. One works perfectly and the other one has never worked properly. They’ve been out every year to service it and it works for a few months and then it stops working. They have never offered to replace it and this year, it is not working again and now they have not even bothered to call me back.
We have used Asbuilt on our projects time and time again. They provide excellent products and service! They take care with their installs and take time to make sure every detail is addressed. Derek and Lee have always been great to work with, they are co-operative, polite and knowledgeable about everything to do with HVAC. I only have pictures of the fireplaces they have installed for us, but their work that gets covered up behind the drywall is just as detailed. They truly care about every aspect of the job. Called Asbuilt because my gas pool heater wasn't working. They said they work on a lot of heaters and would come out and do a diagnostic for $120. I booked an appointment for a few days later between 1-3 pm, at 3 pm they had not arrived so I called the office. The office said the tech had left his last job and they thought he was on his way but they could not get ahold of him. After another 15 mins I had to reschedule for the next day. The next day the tech showed up and seemed very unfamiliar with my Jandy Lite2 heater, and after 15 mins said he thought he had seen this problem 2 weeks ago and there was 2 parts I needed. On the receipt the tech marked down 1 hr of work even though he was there less than 20 mins. I ordered the $700 in parts but they did nothing to fix the heater. I called the office to complain and to their credit they offered a full refund on the diagnostic fee and asked to send out a different tech at no charge. I reluctantly agreed. The second tech came out and said the voltage coming from the CB panel in the basement to the pool heater was fluctuating by 1 volt, and I need to either open the basement wall to trace the wire and find the problem or run a brand new line to the heater. I asked why the first tech had not found the same problem and his reply was "I can't tell you why the other guys aren't as good as me". I asked him multiple times if he was sure this was the problem, and he was adamant it was. So I open the basement wall up to find the wire was in perfect condition. After further research on my own, I ordered a different part that was a complete fix for the heater.
Asbuilt came on site and fixed our problems during the winter when the furnace wasn't working. They tried just cleaning the defective part first instead of replacing it and charging us unnecessarily. After 24 hours the part started acting up again and they came back promptly and replaced the part in question and it's worked fine ever since. I recommend these guys as they also explain some of the features and options with your existing system and some improvements that could make the system run better. Gary Freeman
